EUROPEAN stocks fell

European stocks fell after three days of gains, as investors awaited a report on U.S. housing starts. The Stoxx Europe 600 Index slipped 0.3% to 333.74. 


TF1 dropped 2.9% after full-year revenue missed analysts’ projections. 

Lafarge and Carlsberg A/S each rose more than 2.5% after posting fourth-quarter profit that beat estimates. 

BAE Systems Plc advanced 2.7% after saying the governments of the U.K. and Saudi Arabia have agreed to increase the price of Eurofighter Typhoon jets. 

In the U.K., the Bank of England publishes the minutes of the Monetary Policy Committee’s Feb. 5-6 meeting. The MPC left its key interest rate at a record low of 0.5 percent after that meeting.

PSA Peugeot Citroen rose 3.8% after saying it plans to raise 5.27 billion euros through share sales and joint ventures. 

Peugeot also announced its financial results for 2013 today. It made an operating loss of 177 million euros, narrower than the 247 million euros predicted by analysts.
